Today we celebrate Ruby Bridges. At only 6 years old, she was the first African-American child to desegregate an all-white elementary school  in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1960. Currently, Bridges tours the country as a civil rights activist and author. She is sharing her experience with a new generation of kids in her latest children’s book, I Am Ruby Bridges.

GSA meets in room 167 right after school on February 8th and 22nd for fun crafts and good conversation.

Don’t miss Davidson Theatre’s incredible Junior-Senior production of Our Town – often referred to as the greatest American play ever written. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at hilliarddavidsontheatre.com.
