HDV Announcements: Wednesday, November 5

Good morning, Wildcats,

Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance (recite pledge)

Here are your announcements for today:

Attention girls, if you are interested in being a part of our ROX group and you have 6th period lunch or study hall, please feel free to swing up to room 261 today! We discuss various issues related to being a teenage girl today, including building confidence, learning critical life skills, and gaining a supportive community to navigate life. See Mrs. Clausen or Dr. Mox for questions.

Did you miss Gymnastics tryouts, but you’re still interested in joining the team? Come to a practice today from 3:30-5:30 at Fliptastic Gymnastics to try out! We will be having our team meeting tonight at 8:00pm. You need to have an updated physical uploaded to Final Forms. Please reach out to Coach Carol with any questions at carol_eskay@hboe.org.

The Engineering Club is meeting after school today in room 147. All are welcome!

The Red Cross Club will have a meeting today after school in room 139. All students are welcome. See William Chen or Mr. Reese if you have any questions.

Bowling Tryouts will take place tonight at Ten Pin Alley in Hilliard for anyone who is interested!

Join us for our next BSA meeting on Tuesday, November 11th right after school in the Media Center. We will be beginning our Culture Night planning.

The chess club is hosting a $100 chess tournament on Wednesday November 13th at 2:40 in room 143. All are welcome to play, scan one of the QR codes around the school or on the chess club instagram to register.

If you are interested in joining the boys or girls wrestling team, the first practice is November 14th 3:15pm-5:15pm. Make sure to have Finalforms completed and a physical. If you have questions, see Coach Forgy in room 126 .

Students interested in a career as an electrician, construction project manager, or foreman- there is a realistic job preview and open house scheduled with the Independent Electrical Contractors. They have connections with employers, and also help to start training as early as your senior year. The open house will be during the school day on November 19th. If you’re interested in attending, send Mr. Hunt a message in Canvas today! Mr. Hunt has a variety of field trips and career exploration experiences every month, but you have to read through your Canvas messages from him in order to participate. Most field trips require permission slips and other specific details that are needed before the morning of the event. If you’re curious about the latest opportunities that are available, check your Canvas messages, watch the TVs around school, and listen to these announcements!!

We’re going to Spain! Join us for an informational meeting out the Spring Break 2027 trip to Spain on Monday, November 17th at 6:30 pm in the Media Center. Please see Ms. Cooper in room 226 for more information.

That’s all we have for today. Make it a great day and GO CATS!
