The Chess Club is hosting a $100 chess tournament on THURSDAY at 2:40 in room 143. All are welcome to play, scan one of the QR codes around the school or on the chess club instagram to register.

If you are interested in joining the boys or girls wrestling team, the first practice is this Friday from 3:15pm-5:15pm. Make sure to have Final Forms completed and a physical . If you have questions, see Coach Forgy in room 126 .

We’re going to Spain! Join us for an informational meeting out the Spring Break 2027 trip to Spain on Monday, November 17th at 6:30 pm in the Media Center. Please see Ms. Cooper in room 226 for more information.

Attention Juniors and Seniors –  Darby High School will be administering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) Career Exploration Tool on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 @ 7:40 a.m. This optional opportunity is open to juniors and seniors, and is completely free. This is a career assessment tool and is used by the military if you plan to join. This test will be administered on desktop computers at Darby High School. Please take advantage of this opportunity by signing up using the link that is on your CANVAS page for the classes of 2026 and 2027. This form must be completed no later than Friday, November 21, 2025. You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the test administration. Please see Ms. Mongolier in Guidance with any questions.

Students interested in a career as an electrician, construction project manager, or foreman- there is a realistic job preview and open house scheduled with the Independent Electrical Contractors. They have connections with employers, and also help to start training as early as your senior year. The open house will be during the school day on November 19th. If you’re interested in attending, send Mr. Hunt a message in Canvas today! Mr. Hunt has a variety of field trips and career exploration experiences every month, but you have to read through your Canvas messages from him in order to participate. Most field trips require permission slips and other specific details that are needed before the morning of the event. If you’re curious about the latest opportunities that are available, check your Canvas messages, watch the TVs around school, and listen to these announcements!!

Attention girls, if you are interested in being a part of our ROX group and you have 6th period lunch or study hall, please feel free to swing up to room 261 today! We discuss various issues related to being a teenage girl today, including building confidence, learning critical life skills, and gaining a supportive community to navigate life. See Mrs. Clausen or Dr. Mox for questions. 

Did you miss Gymnastics tryouts, but you’re still interested in joining the team? Come to a practice today from 3:30-5:30 at Fliptastic Gymnastics to try out! We will be having our team meeting tonight at 8:00pm. You need to have an updated physical uploaded to Final Forms. Please reach out to Coach Carol with any questions at carol_eskay@hboe.org.
