Earlier this month Davidson senior Leanna Ramirez and her family, were honored to be recognized at a Hilliard City Council meeting to spotlight Pediatric Cancer Month. Her father, John, teaches at Weaver, and her brother Julian attends Tharp.
In March 15, 2017, Leanna was diagnosed with a Cellular Ependymoma at her brain stem in charge of the CNS. She has had not 1, but 2 craniotomies. Leanna and her family hope to spread awareness and equality for pediatric cancer funding. She is working with the schools to designate a day this month to “go gold”.
Leanna is a fighter who is living with an incurable-rare brain tumor.
