Bradley HS worked in collaboration with Sgt. Henderson, our United States Air Force recruiter in offering a unique Career Explorations Day for over 60 students last week.

Three airmen came to Bradley HS to conduct a RAP (Recruiter’s Assistance Program). This was an informational session where students had access to recently graduated high schoolers, who shared “real world” experiences and opportunities with the USAF.

The following Career Fields were represented: Bomber Crew Chief (B1-B Bomber), Finance, and one member of the US Space Force (Space Systems Operations). The ASVAB test was discussed, and students had the opportunity to ask questions and investigate the advantages of enlisting and pursuing a “civilian” career under the United States Air Force training and assistance.

Test takers need to arrive at the normal time. Similar to a traditional school day, breakfast will be available in the morning for test takers.

Non-Testers will have a DELAYED start. Lunch starts at 11:40 a.m. and regular classes start at 12 p.m.

On testing days, there will be a brown bag lunch service. Limited brown bag lunch options will be available to students who receive or choose to purchase a school lunch.

Buses will run at their normal times in the AM and PM. If Non-Testers need to ride the bus to school, they will report to the Commons area from 7:40 to 11:40 a.m. for a quiet study hall, then lunch. We suggest making prior arrangements for drop off on this day, if possible.

Hilliard Bradley hosted students from all three high schools for an HBCU (Historically Black College/ University) panel discussion. Six HBCU alumni spoke to over 60 students from all three high schools about their experiences in attending an HBCU. Alumni from Howard University, Meharry Medical College, Kentucky State University, and Spellman spoke to the students about how they chose a college and why they chose to attend an HBCU. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and build connections with the alumni. Students were encouraged and empowered to think of the possibilities after graduation.

Parent Voice in Math Curriculum

The Hilliard City School District’s Curriculum Department is in the midst of a multi-year curriculum revision cycle for several content areas. An important part of this process is seeking input from our parents on what is important to them in each content area. The next content area that a district committee will revise is Mathematics. If you are interested in providing feedback in regard to your child’s Math curriculum, please click this link and respond to a brief, two-question survey. Thank you for your consideration.
