Ohio State Testing Schedule and Adjusted Bell Schedule (3-hour delay)

All students currently enrolled in Biology or Honors Biology will be taking the State of Ohio, End-of-Course Exam for Biology on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, @ 7:40am.  Please keep the following key points in mind:

  1. Check this list Download list or the printed copy on the windows in the Commons for your room assignment.  Please check ALL the lists for your name!  Speak with your Biology teacher if you are having trouble locating your name.
  2. Please report to your assigned room by 7:40am on April 15th with a FULLY CHARGED iPad and a few pens or pencils.  Also, all students can elect to have this test read aloud to them through the testing app.  If you would like to have the test read aloud to you, please bring a set of PLUG-IN HEADPHONES with you – NO WIRELESS EARBUDS or AIRPODS are permitted!  PLEASE BE ON TIME SO THE TEST CAN START ON TIME!
  3. You will be taking both parts, Part 1 and Part 2, of the exam on this day.  Standard time for Part 1 is 90 minutes and standard time for Part 2 is 90 minutes.  Please make sure to eat breakfast and get a good night’s rest prior to taking this important exam.  Attendance for your end-of-course exams is crucial so that you do not have to miss additional class time for a make-up exam.  Make every effort to be present for your exam!!
  4. We will be on a 3-hour delay schedule for all of our state testing days this year.  Testing begins at 7:40am and our regular 8-period day with shortened class periods will begin at 10:40am.
  5. Lastly, the graduation requirements for the State of Ohio were discussed with you this year.  Earning a “3” (proficient) or higher on this exam will earn you the Science Seal – remember that you need to earn 2 seals in order to graduate!  This can be one of them! It is so important that you give your best effort! Take a deep breath and try your best – you got this!!

If you have any questions, please reach out to your Biology teacher, your school counselor, or me.

Tuesday, April 15th, 2025: Biology Parts 1 & 2
Thursday, April 17th, 2025: US History, US Government Parts 1 & 2
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025: Algebra 1 and Geometry Part 1
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025: Algebra 1 and Geometry Part 2
* 9th Grade students currently enrolled in Future Ready will be taking the Certiport Power Point Credentialing Exam on one of these two mornings.  They will receive more information from their teacher.

ALL 6 testing days will follow the schedule below.

There will be new incentives for students showing proficiency on the end-of-course exams for Algebra I, Biology, English II, U.S. History, Geometry, and U.S. Government.  Please see below.

  • As a means of incentivizing proficiency on state end-of-course exams in Algebra 1, Biology, English II, U.S. History, Geometry, and U.S. Government, we propose providing students the opportunity to exempt a final exam in these courses if they demonstrate proficiency (700 or higher) on the associated state test.
  • For students who demonstrate proficiency (700 or higher) and elect to exempt the final exam, the second semester grade would be calculated by evenly weighting marking period three (MP3) and marking period four (MP4) grades.
  • Students who are in danger of failing the course but demonstrate proficiency on the end-of-course test would be highly encouraged to take the final exam for the course in an attempt to achieve a passing grade for the semester.
  • Any student can still take the final exam in an attempt to improve their semester grade. Students who demonstrate proficiency on state end-of-course exams will not be prohibited from taking the final exam for the associated course.

If your student has any questions, please have them speak with their respective teacher in those subjects.
