Save the Dates – Summer School 2022Hilliard Summer School 2022 programming is currently being developed. Although the exact details of program offerings at each grade level are not available yet, we hope parents will save the tentative dates that have been set for your planning purposes. High School Summer Courses will run from May 31-June 24 with the exception of PE which is two weeks longer. Elementary and Middle Level programs will occur from June 6-June 30 in the morning only. Please visit our website in March for the most up to date Summer School 2022 information.

Parent Voice in Curriculum – Health and ELA

The Hilliard City School District’s Curriculum Department is excited to launch a multi-year curriculum revision cycle for several content areas. An important part of this process is seeking input from our parents on what is important to them in each content area. The next content area that a district committee will revise is Health. If you are interested in providing feedback in regards to your child’s Health curriculum, please click this link and respond to a brief, two question survey.

Good Afternoon Jaguar Parents,

This week was another wonderful week at Bradley High School.  It was great seeing our students participating in the first spirit week of the new year. The pants, jackets, jerseys, shirts, and other apparel was awesome to see.

I would like to congratulate the following Bradley students for having their artwork accepted into The Central Ohio Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition. It will be held at Columbus College of Art and Design with the opening and awards ceremony of the show being held on February 5th, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Students who received Gold, Silver and American Vision Awards will have their artwork on display starting February 5th through 25th, in the Acock Gallery at Columbus College of Art and Design. Congratulations Olivia Hudson – Gold Key/ American Vision Award, Sophia Korikian – Silver Key, Leigha Dennison – Honorable Mention, Noah Buschur – Honorable Mention, Sophia Grounds-Lauber – Honorable Mention, Megan McCreary – Honorable Mention, and Isabella Shui – Honorable Mention.

Kindergarten Registration Open

If your child will be five years of age on or before September 30, 2022, they are eligible to start kindergarten during the 2022-2023 school year. Parents should visit the enrollment website (www.hilliardschools.org/enroll)  to complete online registration and sign up for a registration appointment.

Online Academy

Parents of Current 8-11th Graders: If you are considering the Online Academy for the 2022-2023 school year, please go to the Online Academy website to learn about our courses and the options for the year ahead. The Online Academy offers students three options: Full-Time, Half-Time, and A la Carte (1-2 online classes).

Whether selecting the Online Academy for a Full-Time, Half-Time, or A la Carte experience, we want to ensure you have the information you need to make this year-long commitment as the scheduling windows are about to open for next year.  All students taking online classes will need to complete the Online Academy Intent and Course Selection form during your scheduling window.  This form will be available on the Online Academy website  January 31 – February 25.

Is there a member of the staff who has made or is making a difference in your student’s life at school? If so, consider nominating that person for staff member of the month. You can recognize anyone who works for Bradley High School — teachers, administrators, aides, office staff, custodial staff or food-service workers. CLICK HERE for a Staff Member of the Month form and submit it to the main office.

Next week, January 21st the Hilliard Bradley Theater presents Charlie and The Chocolate Factory runs from January 21st through January 23rd. Performances on Friday and Saturday are at 7pm, and Sunday’s performance is at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased through Local Level. The link is on our website at www.bradleytheater.com

Next Monday, Bradley High School will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

Counselor News

It is close to the time counselors will be scheduling classes for next year, please look over the Program of Studies to find classes and what the classes are teaching.  Below is the link for the Program of Studies.  Counselors will be in the classrooms on the following dates.

How to Report a Student Absence

Effective immediately, due to the rise of COVID-19 positive cases for students, we’ve added a new ‘Covid Positive’ option for parents to select when reporting an absence via Safe Arrival.

As a reminder, you can report your student’s absence through the School Messenger Attendance Management System either by phone of through the app.  You are asked to report the absence as soon as possible.

New Graduation Requirements Webinar

State law introduced new, long-term graduation requirements for students in the class of 2023 and beyond. Students entering ninth grade after July 1, 2019, must meet the new requirements. Join our secondary curriculum director on January 19 at 6:30 pm for a webinar to discuss the new requirements, and other information specific to Hilliard City Schools courses and programs. We invite you to join the Columbus Metropolitan Library and Hilliard City Schools for a Book Talk this month.  There will be a panel of students and adults to discuss the book, “When Stars Are Scattered” by Victoria Jamieson.  The event will take place at 6:30 pm. on January 19 at the Hilliard Branch.  You can reserve the book now at any Library.



Good Afternoon Jaguar Families,

Next week Bradley High School will be operating on our semester exam schedule Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Please be sure to check the schedule so you are aware of the changes that will be made to our normal daily procedure.

Notes: 

-Students are not required to be here if they do not have an exam on a particular day.

-Students are not required to be here until their scheduled exam.

-Students are not required to stay after the last exam of the day.  Students will be allowed to leave after the last exam of the day at 11:00am.  If students exit the building after 11:00am, they will not be allowed to re-enter unless approved by the administration.

-Lunch will be provided to all students from 11:00am-12:00pm on exam days.

-Buses will run on our normal schedule.  If students ride the bus in the afternoon, they have a couple of options:

  1. From 12:00-2:32pm, they can attend a scheduled review session with their teacher(s)
  2. Sit quietly in the commons, where they will be monitored by our study hall staff and hall monitors. Students will not be allowed to enter the academic hallways after 12:00pm unless they are in a class review session or making up an exam.

Tuesday, December 14th and Wednesday, December 15th beginning at 7:00pm, Bradley High School will be hosting its annual Winter Fest in the performing arts center. During Tuesday night’s event the Bradley High School Art Department will also be hosting its winter art show and Ceramics Sale from 6-8 in the Bradley Art Hallway.

Finally, next Friday will be the last official day of school for students before we begin winter break.

The School Counseling Department is working on recruiting for our second semester senior workforce opportunities and realize the importance of parent nominations/input to ensure no student falls through the cracks who may be great!

You may already be familiar with the Worthington Industries program.  We have expanded our partnerships, and the programs we are looking to match students with include:

Worthington Industries-manufacturing steel/cylinders

RT Moore-commercial plumbing/HVAC

EcoPlumbers-repair and installation plumbing

Rosati Windows-installation/contracting

We are focusing on seniors but will take names of juniors.  The opportunities we are working on are skilled trades with lots of opportunities for future advancement and even college tuition to be paid for if the student decides later to attend college.

The students have done a great job refocusing on their school work as they prepare for semester exams in two weeks. Next week is our final regularly scheduled five day week before winter break. The week of December 13th we will be administering semester exams on Tuesday, December 14th through Friday, December 17th.  As we approach midterm exams please have a discussion with your students about the upcoming exam schedule  Click Here

On Tuesday, December 14th and Wednesday, December 15th beginning at 7:00pm, Bradley High School will be hosting its annual Winter Fest in the performing arts center. Senior Pictures Due December 10th

SENIORS! Senior pictures are due for the yearbook by Friday, December 10. You must turn in your photo by that date in order to secure a portrait space in the senior section of the yearbook. Hollyfest Arts and Craft Fair This Saturday

The 38th Annual Hilliard Hollyfest will take place on Saturday, December 4 from 9am-3pm at Hilliard Davidson High School.  The Hilliard Chamber of Commerce is bringing 118 crafters with only handmade items to give you a great shopping experience.  Admission is $5.00 and $3.00 for students.  Part of the proceeds benefit scholarships awarded to students graduating from Hilliard Schools.

Library to offer Winter Reading Challenge

The Columbus Metropolitan Library is bringing back for a fourth year its Winter Reading Challenge, in which students can earn prizes just by reading over break.
