Dear Memorial Families:
We had a great first week back! Students were excited to reconnect with their friends and start their new 2nd semester schedule. This is a big week as our report cards will be ready to view on HOME ACCESS on Tuesday at 3pm. We will also be mailing home a copy of the report card to families.

Over the coming weeks, students will learn more about their course options and the scheduling process for the 26/27 school year. We encourage families to talk with students about their interests, strengths, and goals as we plan together. More detailed information will be coming soon.

Just a reminder that our Meet and Greet for the Spring Theater Production is tomorrow at 3pm. Parents are also welcome to attend. I am very excited for our students!

Have a great week!

A Spring Theater Production for MMS!

We’re excited to share that our students will have the opportunity to participate in a spring theater production this year! The performing arts are an essential and valued part of our MMS community, and we love seeing our students shine through creativity, collaboration, and expression.

Any students who are interested in being involved are invited to attend an informational meeting with Ms. Mateer, our Director, on January 12 at 3:00 p.m. She will share details about the production, rehearsal expectations, and how students can get involved.

We hope many of our students will consider joining this exciting experience, and we look forward to another fantastic season of student talent on stage! There are opportunities to act and also to be behind the scenes!

A Message from Our Guidance Department

As the weather remains cold, we want to ensure all students are comfortable and prepared throughout the school day. With colder temperatures approaching, student lockers are available for use every day. Stop in the Student Support/Guidance office in the morning or at lunch to get assigned a locker with Ms. Ysseldyke.

Please encourage your student to store any necessary items—such as Fitness apparel, jackets, hats, gloves, or extra layers—in their locker as needed. This will help them stay organized and ready for fluctuating weather conditions.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued support!

Embrace, Empower, Inspire Award Winners
Congratulations to this month’s Embrace, Empower & Inspire Award winners, Karen Vanvleet (Kindergarten Teacher at J.W.R) and Jeremy Jones (Grounds Coordinator). To learn more about these exceptional staff members and why there were selected click here. You can also submit your own nomination for this monthly staff award at any time.

Kindergarten Registration Open Soon
Hilliard City School District will begin Kindergarten Registration on January 12, 2026 for the 2026-27 school year. Due to a recent change in Ohio law, school districts must now use a uniform age-eligibility cutoff for kindergarten enrollment. If your child will be five years of age on or before August 19, 2026, the first day of school for the 2026–2027 school year, they are eligible to start kindergarten that year. This replaces the previous September 30 cutoff.
Parents can access the registration website (on or after January 12, 2026) to complete online registration. Once you have completed the registration process and provided all required documentation, you will be given access to schedule your child’s kindergarten screening appointment for August. Please don’t delay.

Scholarship Application Time
It’s time for seniors and they families to check out Scholarships in Schoolinks. The district is receiving new opportunities daily. If you have questions your student can reach out to their counselors. Click here to learn more.
2026 Attendance Matters
Let’s start 2026 right by making attendance a top priority. Regular school attendance sets the stage for your child’s success and we’re here to assist in any way we can, ensuring that every day counts in their educational journey. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. Together, we can make this year a remarkable one for your child’s growth and learning.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
