Attention Junior Students and Parents
Per Ohio state law, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce will be paying for one administration of a college readiness examination to all juniors. For this school year, Hilliard City Schools has chosen the SAT for our students. On March 5th, all juniors (according to their grade in Home Access) will have the opportunity to take the SAT test at their home building. This date was pre-assigned by the state and SAT. Students will report to school as normal, and the district will mimic the administration procedures typically enforced at a national, Saturday administration of the SAT. Below is additional information that will be helpful on both test day and leading up to test day. Please contact your building counselor’s office for additional questions or clarification.
Students will NOT need to register individually; we have registered students at the district level directly with SAT.
- All SAT test security measures will be in place for this state assessment. Students should be prepared NOT to bring their cell phones into the testing location, and should have proper identification with them. (Current school ID, driver’s license, state ID, etc.)
- Students who are found to be in violation of the “No Cell Phone” rule may have their phone confiscated, and face additional discipline consequences, including possible suspension.
- Students should have done the pre-administration portion of the test PRIOR to test day. If you have not yet completed this stop and see Mrs. Wintrich in student services.
- Students can bring an SAT approved calculator to the test administration. There is a desmos graphing calculator embedded in the platform. (Calculator information linked hereLinks to an external site..)
- Students should be able to see their scores from the state administration in their SAT college board account approximately 2 weeks from the test date.
- Please check the College Board website for specific questions:
https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/Links to an external site.
*Note: this is a remote learning day for all other students so when your test is complete you are free to go home.* The standard time test takes a little over two hours and accommodations if used could add some time to that number. Once your test has been formally submitted you are finished for the day.

New Preschool Location
As part of Phase 1 of our Master Facilities Plan, we are excited to share that the future home of Hilliard City Schools’ new preschool will be on the Britton Norwich campus, connected to Norwich Elementary. This location will provide a welcoming, accessible space for our youngest learners while keeping them connected to the broader school community.
While this is an important milestone, we want to emphasize that there is still much work to be done. Our team is carefully considering key factors such as traffic flow, parking, pedestrian safety, playground design, and bell schedules to ensure a safe and efficient environment for students, staff, and families. Additionally, we are working closely with the City of Hilliard and Norwich Township Fire Department to address environmental and safety concerns, ensuring that the project aligns with all regulations and best practices.
