Summer Bridge Program

This summer, the district will host academic and enrichment opportunities for grades K-8, as well as a traditional summer school for high school credit.  It is important to note that we will have limited capacity based on staffing, so if more people sign up than we have openings, there will be a lottery. This summer our opportunities are only for students in the Hilliard City School District.

Change in the Online Academy Commitment for 2021/22

The commitment to the Online Academy for next school year has changed.  Students enrolling in the Online Academy for 2021/22 must commit for:

  • One semester at a time for 6-12 students
  • Half the year for K-5 students (Elementary students who return to in-person learning for the second half of the year are not guaranteed their home-school, although that is the goal.)

As a reminder, we will still be asking for the commitment the week of April 5-9.  The district will email all families details on how to enroll in the Online Academy if that is what you choose for your student.  If this impacts a change in your secondary student’s schedule, you should email the school counselor to ask questions and make changes.

We appreciate the feedback from our families as we adjust and adapt during the commitment process.

New Release by Shades of Blue

Hilliard Bradley’s premier a cappella group, Shades of Blue released their first single today on all music platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. The single is a cover of “Exile” by Taylor Swift and Bon Iver arranged by Jamey Boezi.

At the beginning of the school year Shades of Blue was faced with the question of how to adapt and change due to COVID restrictions. The group decided to innovate instead of focusing on limitations. The students decided to work on a recording project which was a first for the group. They immediately got to work learning five songs in a very short period of time. In November 2020, all fifteen members recorded their parts individually at the ILC recording studio in Hilliard. After this all of the recordings were sent off to a professional a cappella production company called Aurum Productions to take care of the post-production.

Today, Shades of Blue released their first of two singles to be released in the next two months. The full album is set to release in May. The single can be purchased as well as streamed wherever you get your music. The proceeds from this single and the upcoming album will help to fund future recording projects for the group.
