Bradley eNews – September 29, 2023

Good Afternoon Jaguar Families,

Homecoming is here! Tonight’s homecoming game against Hilliard Davidson High School starts at 7:00 p.m. The homecoming dance is tomorrow, September 30th, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. on the football field. Students, please remember to download your ticket and bring a picture ID.

I ask all of you to please talk to your sons/daughters about drinking and drugs. Many students may be asked to attend parties before and after the dance. If your child is attending a party, please make sure there will be parent supervision and that there are no drugs or alcohol. A simple phone call can save a life. We want all of our students to have a great weekend, and it’s critical that everyone remains safe.

Parent teacher conferences are on October 18th. Please go to the Hilliard Bradleyhomepage and click the sign-up link that will go live next Wednesday, October 3rd. To schedule a conference, please click on a teacher’s name. We ask that you sign up for only one time slot per teacher.  Directions for signup are available on the sign-up page if needed. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call the main office at 614-921-7400.

Have a great weekend and GO JAGS!!!

PSAT

On October 24, each high school will operate on an adjusted schedule for the administration of the PSAT 10 to all sophomores and the administration of the PSAT/NMSQT to those juniors who have registered to take it. Both tests will be digital this school year.

The PSAT 10 measures readiness for college and prepares our sophomores to take the SAT during their junior year. It also connects students with scholarship opportunities and shares Advanced Placement (AP) potential.

For participating juniors, the PSAT/NMSQT also prepares students for the SAT, but is different in that it is a National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

There is additional information for families on the College Board website:www.collegeboard.org.

Technology Protection Plan (TPP)

The Technology Protection Plan (TPP) is still available for purchase. However, the iPad must now be inspected for damage before payment can be accepted. You may send payment, via check or cash, with your student and have them stop in the main office or the media center to begin this process.

Hilliard Ranked #1 in Ohio on a Report Card Measure

As you have heard, the Ohio Department of Education recently released the Ohio School Report Cards for the 2022-23 school year.  We’re thrilled to share some exciting news about one of the components of the report card:  Progress.  The Progress Component is based 100% on the district’s value-added score.

The value-added score is made up of two components:  overall growth index and effect size.  According to the Ohio Department of Education, Hilliard City Schools was ranked #1 out of 607 public school districts on the overall growth index and #15 out of 607 districts on effect size.  You can click here to read more about the ranking and what exactly this component means.
