Good Afternoon Jaguar Families,

It was great to have our students and staff back in the building following spring break. Our sophomore students did an excellent job staying focused on Wednesday and Thursday during the ELA 2 exams. Next week, we will be administering the state Biology test on Tuesday and the US History & Government state tests on Thursday.  Please click the following link for more testing information.

Senior Parents, next Tuesday, following the state test we will call the senior class to the gym for cap and gown pick-up at 11:45am. This will be the last large group meeting for seniors before we begin the pre-graduation celebrations in May. Please remember to submit a baby picture for your senior. The photos will be used for our end-of-year slideshow and will be shown during graduation. If your student has not submitted their photo through Canvas, please email their photo to Cindy_Cote@hboe.org.

Lastly, congratulations to our acapella group Shades of Blue who competed in the ICHSA Midwest Semifinal and placed first! They will now advance to compete at the ICHSA Finals at The Town Hall in New York City on April 25th!

Have a great weekend and Go Jags!

As we near the final months of the school year, we want to stress the importance of consistent attendance and finishing strong! While the increasing sunshine may make it feel like the year is winding down, we’re not there just yet. These next months still hold valuable learning opportunities, experiences, and celebrations! Keep discussing with your student(s) the significance of finishing the year on a high note. It’s always a great day to be a Jag!

Bradley Theater Presents “Into the Woods”!

Only three weeks until opening night!  This Tony Award-winning collaboration between James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim reimagines classic fairytales through a darkly comedic lens. Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and other familiar figures venture into a mystical forest, where their wishes intertwine, revealing the complex consequences of ambition. This musical masterpiece explores the disillusionment of adulthood, ultimately suggesting that “happily ever after” is a fleeting illusion.

Bradley Theater Presents “Into the Woods”!

Ever wondered what happens after “happily ever after?” James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take your favorite fairytale characters—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and more—and throw them into a dark, twisty forest where wishes have a habit of going wrong. This Tony-winning show is both funny and heartbreaking, reminding us that growing up means facing the realities those fairytales conveniently skipped over.

Good Afternoon Jaguar Families,

I would like to begin by thanking everyone that had a chance to come out and support our band and choir performances this week. It was great to see so many of our families come out and support the hard work of our talented students.

This week, over 400 of our Junior students took the SAT exam on Wednesday. We are excited to see the results and celebrate our students’ growth.

Good luck to Audrey Slivka, Maddie Smith and Kelly Lemons who will compete in the OHSAA State Wrestling Championships at The Schott this weekend. The girl’s bowling team will be competing in the OHSAA bowling state championship today at 10:00 am for the second time in school history. Good luck Kay Butcher, Cameryn Gale, Rachel Johnson, Avery Hinton, Natalee Kamn, and Hayli Patterson.

Finally, as we conclude the third quarter, please review your child’s grades and discuss strengths and areas for improvement to set goals for the second quarter. Take time to celebrate your child’s successes and continue to work with their respective teachers to achieve any improvement that needs to be made.

Have a great weekend! Go Jags!!!

Darby and Memorial Choirs Shine at OMEA Convention

The Hilliard Darby Symphonic Choir was one of only two high school choirs in Ohio selected to perform at the OMEA Convention! Under the direction of Dr. Michael G. Martin & Mrs. Hannah Sterman-Wilson, they took the stage in Cleveland with a professional orchestra, performing When Hope Sings—a powerful program celebrating music’s ability to uplift and inspire.

Additionally, the Hilliard Memorial Middle School 8th Grade Treble Choir was also selected for this prestigious honor! Congratulations to all the talented students and directors for this incredible achievement!
