ALL 7th & 8th GRADE STUDENTS: Please Update your iPad to 15.6.1 by the end of the week, Friday, October 16th!

National Hispanic/LatinX Heritage Month:  Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.  Did you know? September 15^th is a historically significant day that marks the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

Check out the books about LatinX characters and by LatinX authors on display in the Media Center.  There is also a Collection in Destiny Discover that focuses on the Media Center books that celebrate this month.

SPORTS:

The 8th Grade Football Team beat crosstown rival Weaver last night 34-14.  way to go boys!!!

The Girls Flex Volleyball Team split in their doubleheader against Marysville Bunsold Middle School last night. The girls showed true teamwork and grit throughout both matches. We will be back in action at home on Tuesday night against Eastland Prep Academy starting at 6 PM.

Congratulations to the Heritage Girls Tennis Team on a convincing 5 to 0 win against Marysville Middle School Tuesday evening.  The entire team did an outstanding job and worked hard.  The team will play on Thursday going up against Dublin Karrer at Darby High School tennis court. Great teamwork!!

The Heritage Boys Golf team picked up two wins against Teays Valley East and West Middle Schools at Rolling Meadows’ front 9 last night. The Panthers shot a season best total of 173 with the following scores: Medalist Jensen Webb 40, Mason Gloeckner 43, Niko Caleodis 44, and Landon Stockdale 46. Ben Nowinsky and Jacob Limbird shot 47 and 50 respectively. Mason Gloeckner and Landon Stockdale also had birdies this evening. The Boys golf record now moves to 6 – 6. Great job Panthers!
