The boys soccer team played 2 hard fought games this week. The boys beat Memorial 11-2, highlighted by a header goal from Eiki Okada. The boys also played a match against Columbus Academy, and fell just short. The boys will be back in action this Saturday against Hilliard Weaver at Davidson stadium at 11:15.

The Heritage gymnastics team placed 2nd in their meet against Marysville Bunsold on Saturday September 17th.  Shawnye Angel placed 8th in the all around.  Addison Peters placed 6th on floor and 7th in the all around.  Great job girls!!

National Hispanic/LatinX Heritage Month:  Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.  Do you know the difference between the terms Hispanic, Latino/a, and LatinX? Hispanic refers to native Spanish speakers or those with Spanish speaking ancestry. Latino/a refers to people of Latin American descent. LatinX is a gender-neutral alternative that includes Latino/a. Check out the books about LatinX characters and by LatinX authors on display in the Media Center.  There is also a Collection in Destiny Discover that focuses on the Media Center books that celebrate this month.  Today’s featured book: Path to the Stars by Sylvia Acevedo. This inspiring memoir for young readers is about a Latina rocket scientist whose early life was transformed by joining the Girl Scouts and who currently serves as CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA.
