Staff Insurance and Benefits Information

Hilliard City Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees. An overview is provided in the Benefit Summary booklets linked below. Employees may review more detailed plan information in the “Insurance and Benefits” folder on the INSIDER/Employee Resources.

While eligible staff members share the cost of medical and dental coverage, the Board provides a basic life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) plan at no cost, as outlined in collective bargaining agreements. Employees also have the option to purchase additional supplemental benefits at competitive group rates through convenient payroll deductions.

The Benefit Guide for the current Plan Year (2026) can be accessed here.

The Benefit Guide for the upcoming Plan Year (2027) can be accessed here.

Open enrollment for all insurance benefits occurs in October for the new plan year which begins in January. ALL STAFF must meet with a benefit representative during open enrollment to retain and/or enroll in benefits for the upcoming plan year.

All enrollment changes due to a qualifying event must be submitted to the District Benefits Coordinator within 30 days of the event. This includes adding or removing a dependent child or spouse to the plan, and enrolling in new coverage due to the loss of coverage previously secured elsewhere.

403(b) and 457 Plan Information

The decision to participate in a 403(b) and/or 457(b) plan should reflect your future financial needs. It is important to note that these accounts are designed for long-term accumulation. You should consult with your financial advisor or tax consultant to determine the potential advantages of traditional and Roth 403(b) and/or 457(b) accounts.

The District works with OMNI & TSACG Compliance Services, who serves as the administrator for these supplemental retirement plans. Please refence the Annual Retirement Benefits Guide and Plan Participation Guide for more information.

Employees may also elect to participate in the Ohio Deferred Compensation 457 retirement plan. Information regarding the plan and enrollment can be found here: https://www.ohio457.org/home
