The Hilliard City School District is in the process of adopting a new K-5 Math resource called Imagine Learning Illustrative Math. During the next two weeks, the Board of Education and the community will have the opportunity to preview this new resource. We invite all families and the community to preview Imagine Learning Illustrative Math, and if so desire, use the Feedback Form to provide feedback. Clicking on this link will provide a preview for our families. A sample display of the curriculum resource by grade level will also be available at Central Office on March 27-30 and April 10-14. Visitors may come in person to preview the samples between the hours of 9:00 am-11:00 am and 2:00-4:00 pm.

To prepare all students without exception to be Ready for Tomorrow, we must create authentic partnerships with our community. We want to hear your ideas, thoughts, and opinions about how your schools should approach a changing landscape. That’s why the Hilliard Board of Education created the Community Conversation Program.
How we educate students is changing rapidly. There are many choices about how schools will look and work as we move forward. These decisions need to be made as a community and with the consideration of many different voices. We need to understand our residents and build a better relationship between the school district and the community. This demands a different kind of conversation. Sometimes that will mean reaching out to a specific group in our community. Other times, it means defining an issue or topic that demands community input. There will be board members and district administrators at each conversation.
These will happen quarterly.
- Tuesday, March 7 – 5:30 pm at the Hub (3859 Main Street, Hilliard)
- Tuesday, June 13 – 9 am at the Hub
- Tuesday, September 5 – 5:30 pm at the Hub
- Tuesday, December 5 – 9 am at Central Office (2140 Atlas Street, Columbus)
The first conversation topic will be Student Achievement. Please join us to share your voice.

There will be no school on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, due to inclement weather.
All middle school and elementary activities are canceled. The high schools will make a decision later in the day on any activities. The SACC programs are closed as well.

If you wish to request that a book or resource not be checked out to your student from their Innovation & Discovery/Media Center, you must complete the form below. Each submitted form will accept up to 10 book titles/author’s names. Please go to the Destiny Discover catalog on your child’s school website under Academics > Innovation Discovery Center OR Media Center to verify that the book/resource currently exists at that location before submitting this form.
Your submission will be shared with your child’s school and added to your child’s information record in Destiny (Library Resource System) only if that item exists at that location. Items submitted through this form will be on your student’s Destiny record for the course of the current school year only. Should you wish to have books/resources exempt for your student next year, you will need to submit this form again for each item.

The Hilliard City School District’s Curriculum Department is in the midst of a multi-year curriculum revision cycle for several content areas. An important part of this process is seeking input from our parents on what is important to them in each content area. The next content area that a district committee will revise is Mathematics. If you are interested in providing feedback in regard to your child’s Math curriculum, please click this link and respond to a brief, two-question survey. Thank you for your consideration.

Our district’s Programs of Study provide students, families, and staff with vital information regarding course offerings, innovative learning experiences, graduation requirements, and post-secondary opportunities. As we look for ways to support the short- and long-term planning process for every student, without exception, it is imperative that our learners and families have clarity regarding the educational opportunities available within and outside our district. In addition, this process provides school staff the opportunity to evaluate programming and course offerings to ensure alignment among master schedules, approved courses of study, developed curricula, and student needs.

Beginning in January, school counselors will meet with groups of students to provide an overview of the scheduling process – this is especially important when we think about transitions from one school to another. Teachers will also leverage the information included in the Programs of Study to make course recommendations for each student in core subjects. Students will have access to information in the Program of Studies and, in collaboration with their school counselor and family, will work to identify the most responsive course selections for the 2023-2024 school year. These requests are then used to inform the master scheduling process at each secondary building so that every student, without exception, has equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities in response to their interests and individual needs.
The Board will take action on the following Programs of Study during the January 9, 2023, meeting.
6th Grade Program of Studies 23-24
