Lunch on the Lawn 2025: Last Day of School

🥪We are excited to welcome families to Horizon for Lunch on the Lawn on Friday, May 30th! This event is for 1st-5th grade students.

Event Details:
📆 Date: Friday, May 30th (Last day of school!)
🕐 Time for 1st, 2nd, and 5th Grade: 11:30-12pm
🕐Time for 3rd and 4th Grade: 12:30-1pm
📍Location: Horizon Elementary Playground and Green Space

🍎Lunch Options: You’re welcome to provide lunch for you and your child(ren) or your child can get a school lunch from the cafeteria (turkey and cheese sandwich sack lunch)

🪑Please feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on during the event

🚫We will not be having students from other grade levels attend a different LOTL time for safety and logistical reasons. (For example: If you have a 1st and 4th grader, we will not have them attend each other’s LOTL, they will eat with their grade level’s respective times). Thank you for your understanding with this!

Logistics:
🚗Parking: We know that parking can be a challenge, so we invite families to walk or carpool if possible. Please do not park on the grass or along the roads as much as possible. Plan to exit the playground/school grounds once your child’s lunch on the lawn is over so we can create room for the next grade levels.

If you are staying for both LOTL’s, you are welcome to stay out back during the transition. We would appreciate help cleaning up any and all trash during this time! 🚮

📋 Signing Out: If you take your child with you after lunch, please sign the child out at the sign out tent which will be located outside near the blacktop and playground. The office will be very busy during this day, so please utilize the sign out tent outside near the playground. Once you sign your child out for the day, they may not come back in the building and need to be supervised by a parent/guardian.

🗣️ Statement from Mrs. Barkdull: The last day of school will be exciting, bittersweet and somewhat chaotic. Please work with our staff and show grace and understanding with all the events we have going on. I will appreciate your help making sure students are staying in their grade level’s designated area for LOTL and ensuring all trash is cleaned up afterward. It will greatly help us out if you utilize the sign out tent that will be out back rather than stopping in the office to sign your child(ren) out.
