BLACK HISTORY MONTH:
“It was a long time ago.
I have almost forgotten my dream.
But it was there then,
In front of me,
Bright like a sun,—
My dream.”
Langston Hughes (1901 – 1967) was a Black writer whose poems, columns, novels and plays made him a leading figure in the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. Check out his poem, “As I Grew Older” in the book, Poems About Emotions, by Clare Constant in the HMS Media Center. Destiny Discover also has the collections Black Culture and Black Heroes with books featured in the Media Center in celebration of Black History Month.
