Women’s History Month:  Many women have been standout athletes in their sports. Read about their lives in the Biography section of the Media Center. Read books such as Simon Biles: Greatest of All Time by Heather Schwartz, Naomi Osaka by Mary Hertz Scarbrough, Mone Davis: remember my name: my story from first pitch to game changer by Mone Davis with Hilary Beard. Check out all of the books in the collection Women’s History Month in Destiny Discover, along with the books featured in the Media Center displays.

KONA ICE will be here Friday, March 17th. Students will have the opportunity to purchase treats from Kona Ice during lunch times.  Items range from $4 to $7.  Payment by cash or card.  Proceeds support Heritage PTO.

Dodgeball Tournament:  The 5th Annual Heritage Dodgeball Tournament will be 2:45 – 4:30 pm on Friday, March 10th in the gym.  Teams of 6 will compete to be Dodgeball Champion!  Team registration packets are available in the school office.  Completed packets including signed forms and the $5 per player fee are due today,  3/9  Students, parents and families can watch the action for $2 each, paid at the door.  Concessions including pizza will be available for sale (cash only).  Come out and cheer for your favorite team!!

WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH:  “It is our future on the line, and we must at least have a say in it.” Greta Thunberg is a young advocate for making the earth a better, safer place to live. Read her biography, Greta Thunberg: Climate Crisis Activist by Matt Doeden in the Media Center. Another young influential woman is Amanda Gorman, a poet who has two books in the Media Center: Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman and Amanda Gorman: Inspiring Hope by Artika Tyna. Check out these books and others in the Destiny Discover collection Women’s History Month.
