Football:  Any seventh grader interested in playing football next year as an eight grader please see Coach Martin in Room 167 to pick up your camp form

Arab American Heritage Month:  Check out the Collection titled Arab American Heritage Month in Destiny to see some of the books that are written about Arab American characters or by Arab American authors.  Some of the titles include: Once Upon An Eid by S. K. Ali and Aisha Saeed, Yusuf Azeem is Not a Hero by Saadia Faruqi, Unsettled by Reem Faruqi, Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan, and Escape from Aleppo by N. H. Senzai.

SPORTS:

The 7th grade softball team: The 7th grade softball team played a double header against Groveport Madison central middle school. The Panthers lost their first game 14-18 but the team worked hard in the second game and beat Groveport 21-11! Congratulations to Emma Gerken, Marley Grigsby, and Torin Pfeiffer on their home runs this weekend!

The 8th grade softball team dropped a pair of games Saturday at Groveport.   Come on out Thursday as the team plays Weaver.

Boy’s LAX: Heritage had a double header this past weekend with some great results.  The boys played Dublin Eversole MS and tied 6-6 with them.  Immediately following that game the boys played Hilliard Memorial again and won 8-3.  This brings the season record to 3-4-1 overall with the next game Monday 4/24 at home against Kilbourne MS/Worthingway MS at 5:30PM.  Wednesday the team travels to McCord MS for  a game at 6PM.  There is a huge matchup on Monday 5/1 5:30PM Vs Hilliard Weaver at home. We need everyone that we can get out to support the team!

8th Grade Social is Tonight!  Buy tickets at lunch!  6 – 8 pm

SPORTS:

7th grade softball:  7th grade softball defeated Dublin Eversole 20-3 last night. Congratulations to Taylor Cahill and Mia Griffith on their homeruns! Make sure to wish the panthers good luck as they face Groveport Madison Saturday morning in a double header.

8th grade softball: The eighth-grade softball team lost Kilbourne last night 8-2.  Leading the way for the Panthers or Emily long and Mckinley Williamson.

8th grade baseball: Lucas Seward hit 2 triples and Jensen Webb got the win in a 22-12 victory against Kilbourne. The Panthers play at Weaver next Thursday

Arab American Heritage Month:  Munira Yasin Abdullahi represents the 9th House District in Columbus, Ohio, and is currently in 2023 the youngest serving member of the Ohio House of Representatives.  She is the first Muslim woman and the first Somali American to serve in the Ohio legislature.

Rep. Munira Yasin Abdullahi fled Somalia at the age of three with her parents.  She grew up in Columbus and earned a Political Science degree from The Ohio State University.  She works as the programs director for the Muslim American Society.

Attention 8th Grade:  8th Grade Social is this Friday, from 6-8pm.  Tickets are $5.00 and sold at lunch.

Arab American Heritage Month:  Munira Yasin Abdullahi represents the 9th House District in Columbus, Ohio, and is currently in 2023 the youngest serving member of the Ohio House of Representatives.  She is the first Muslim woman and the first Somali American to serve in the Ohio legislature.

SPORTS:
Tennis:  The Heritage boys tennis team won against Gahanna on 4/18 and Lancaster on 4/19.

Volleyball: Both Panthers teams came out victorious vs Olentangy Shannahan. Blue lost their first set but rallied in the next to take the match 2-1. Blue record now sits at 7-4. Black won 2-0 including a 25-7 second set. Record is now at 11-1.

Boy’s LAX: Tough Loss to Jones.  Heritage lost 18-0 Wednesday night to Jones Middle School.  This brings the record to 2-4 with two away games this Saturday against Dublin Eversole and Hilliard Memorial.
