Back to School Social this Friday, September 17th.  It will be held in the football stadium before the HS football game.  Time is 5-6:30 p.m. Tickets are sold at lunch this Wednesday – Friday for $5.00

Hispanic Heritage Month – September 15 to October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month.  Students can go to Destiny Discover on the Media Center Canvas course and look at the Collections tab.  Books that are written by LatinX authors or have LatinX characters or settings are featured.  See the displays in the Media Center!

8th Grade Football Team lost to Weaver 8-0 yesterday.    It was a hard fought battle but turnovers ended up costing them the game.

Well done 7th Grade Football Team!  The Panthers beat the Weaver Wildcats last night by a score of 36-8.  Great defense was put on display by Taryn Walters, Jakob Cline, and Logan Bryant, as well as many others.  Congratulations Panthers, best of luck next week.

CLUBS: 

GSA provides a safe place for LGBTQ+ and straight ally students to meet, support each other, and discuss issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. If you are interested in joining GSA, please scan one of the QR codes hanging around the building! Our first meeting will be TODAY,(Sept. 16th) right after school until 3:30pm. Anyone is welcome to join GSA! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. K in room 204 or Mrs. Glass in room 243.  

Diversity Club: If you are interested in joining Diversity Club, please scan one of the QR codes hanging around the building. The purpose of Diversity Club is to provide a safe space for students to socialize, discuss things that are important to them, celebrate one another, and have fun! Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 22nd after school until 3:30. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. K in room 204 or Mrs. Glass in room 243.

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Students) will have their first meeting Friday, September 17th before school from 7:15-7:45 am in Miss Litt’s room (Room 245).  We will have donuts, a game, and an encouraging message.  All students are welcome – you do not have to be an athlete.  Students can scan the QR code on flyers around the building to sign up or you can just show up that morning.  See Miss Litt with any questions.

You will have the opportunity to meet others and have FUN while designing and supporting Heritage activities.  YOU make our school even a better place to be!    Our first meeting is WEDNESDAY, Sept. 22nd in the library from 2:45 until 3: 30!

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS Do you like to read?  Battle of the Books is a club at Heritage that meets during lunch 1-2 times per month, reading a list of books with students at Memorial and Weaver.  In the spring our schools will hold a quiz “battle” about the books.  Come to Information sessions at Recess on September 20-22.  See flyers posted in the Media Center and hallways for more information or ask Ms. Best in the Media Center.

Sewing Class  Are you interested in learning more about sewing and constructing some easy fun items this is for you. Check the hallway for fliers next week or stop by Ms. Strawser’s room 147 to get the details. The first meeting is Monday, September 27 after school until 4:00

Congratulations  to the Heritage Girls Tennis Team on their win last evening.  The netters defeated Marysville 3-2.   Standout performances came from Kylie Morris, first singles; Madison Morris second singles and Alyssa Stinemetz third singles.  The netters will travel Thursday to play Dublin Karrer Middle School.

Both 7th and 8th Grade Girls Volleyball Teams won last night over Grizzell Middle School.  7th won 25-20 and 28-26, while the 8th grade won 25-15 and 25-23.  Both teams played great!

Heritage Girls Tennis played Weaver Middle School Monday night at Darby Courts.  The netters fought hard but lost 0-5.  The girls will travel to Marysville Tuesday night to play against Marysville. Best of luck netters!!

Panda Club is an opportunity for students to enjoy learning about Asian food, music, games, film, art and culture after school.  It meets once a month (or more!) on the second Tuesday of every month.  Today,  9/14 we will be making Boba Tea (Bubble Tea) after school in room 147 from 2:45pm to 4:00PM.  $1.00 fee per student attending this event to cover the costs for food and supplies for the Boba Tea.

 Sports: 

Heritage Boys Golf picked up a win against Weaver Thursday night at Wilson Road Golf Course. Brayden Brotherton was Medalist with a 36 and Jensen Webb came in with a 37. The score was 163 to 176. Great job boys! Their record is now 5 – 2.

Heritage Girls Golf defeated Olentangy Hyatts and Olentangy Liberty in a tri match last night at Rolling Meadows. The scores were Heritage 201, Hyatts 203, and Liberty 217. Brielle Starnes was Medalist with a 41. Go Panthers! The girl’s team is now 7 – 1.

8th Grade Football beat Davis 28-16 last Thursday.  The entire team contributed to the win. Way to go boys!

Heritage Girls Tennis played their match against Waggoner at Darby Courts Thursday evening.  After a hard fought match, the girls lost 1-4.  Congrats to Mia Prak and Kylie Morris on their doubles win.   Heritage netters will be hosting Weaver on Monday at Darby courts.
