The Boys and Girls Golf Teams competed in the Central Ohio Middle School Golf Championship on Saturday at Raymond Memorial Golf Course. The boys placed 15th out of 18 teams shooting a 413 on 18 holes and the girls placed 2nd out of 9 shooting a 181 on 9 holes. Leading the way for the boys was Jensen Webb with an 88 and Brielle Starnes for the girls with a 42.

Battle of the Books Sign-Up:   To sign up for the Battle of the Books Club, go to the Media Center and scan the QR code on the poster at the main desk.  Sign-ups are this week with the first meeting this coming Friday, October 1st during Recess in the Media Center.  Read great books and make new friends with other readers.  Sign up today!

LatinX/Hispanic Heritage Month:  September 15 to October 15 is LatinX/Hispanic Heritage Month.  Students can go to Destiny Discover on   the Media Center Canvas course and look at the Collections tab.  Books that are written by LatinX authors or have LatinX characters

Happy Birthdays: Gavin Goodman, Chaila Williams, Antonella Nelson, Haley Nelson

The Heritage Gymnastics Team placed 1st in their meet against Weaver, Memorial, Tri Valley, and River View on Saturday.  A great contribution was made by Analise Tripp on beam.  Tarah Wojnarowski placed 6th on bars.  Henna Burnham placed 4th on vault.  Addie Watson placed 6th on bars and 6th in the all around.  Maddie Spurrier placed 4th on vault and bars, 2nd on beam, and 4th in the all around.  Great job girls!!!

The Lady Panthers Golf Team picked up another win last night against Columbus School for Girls at Rolling Meadows. The score was 193 – 220 with Brielle Starnes shooting a low score of 42 earning her Medalist for the evening. Other scores that contributed were Caroline Donato with 46, Sia Hobart 51, and Emme Laemmle 54. Great job girls! They are now 8 – 1 on the season.

Panther Ambassadors: Come one! Come all!

School Social:  Students, tonight is the first school social.  5-6:30 p.m. @HMS football field. Tickets are $5.00 at lunch and $7.00 at the door.   Concessions will be available.  We will have music and games. The Social ticket DOES NOT pay for admittance to the Darby HS football game.  Football tickets must be purchased online separately.

The Boys Golf Team lost a good match Thursday night at Rolling Meadows against Marysville Bunsold 194 – 179. Jensen Webb was Co-Medalist shooting a 40.

This moves the boys to 5-3 for the season. Other scores contributing were Brayden Brotherton with a 45, Niko Caleodis with 54, and Landon Stockdale with 55. It should be noted that Brayden and Jensen each had a birdie in their round.

The Girls Golf Team picked up 2 wins this week. On Wednesday against Weaver, the girls won with a score of 192 – 227 at National Road Golf Course. Brielle Starnes was Medalist with a 39. Sia Hobart and Bella Nelson both came in with 50 and Caroline Donato with a 53. On Thursday, the girls beat Gahanna at Blacklick Executive with a score of 167 to 191. Caroline Donato led the team this match with a 37. The girls are now 7 – 1.

Heritage Girls Tennis played Karrer Middle School Thursday night.  The netters fought hard but lost 0-5.  The girls will travel to Dublin Davis Middle School on  Monday. Best of luck netters!!

Back to School Social this Friday, September 17th.  It will be held in the football stadium before the HS football game.  Time is 5-6:30 p.m. Tickets are sold at lunch this Wednesday – Friday for $5.00

8th Grade Football Team lost to Weaver 8-0 yesterday.    It was a hard fought battle but turnovers ended up costing them the game.

Well done 7th Grade Football Team!  The Panthers beat the Weaver Wildcats last night by a score of 36-8.  Great defense was put on display by Taryn Walters, Jakob Cline, and Logan Bryant, as well as many others.  Congratulations Panthers, best of luck next week.

CLUBS: 

GSA provides a safe place for LGBTQ+ and straight ally students to meet, support each other, and discuss issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. If you are interested in joining GSA, please scan one of the QR codes hanging around the building! FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Students) will have their first meeting Friday, September 17th before school from 7:15-7:45 am in Miss Litt’s room (Room 245).  We will have donuts, a game, and an encouraging message.  All students are welcome – you do not have to be an athlete.  Students can scan the QR code on flyers around the building to sign up or you can just show up that morning.  See Miss Litt with any questions.
