SPORTS:

Track: The Boys and Girls Track teams beat Memorial in their last meet of the season last night.

We have 5 athletes competing in the OHSAA Middle School State Track Meet this Saturday.

Lance Davis: 4x100m Relay, 4x200m Relay

Kohen Kornegay: 4x100m Relay, 4x200m Relay

SaRon Stewart: 4x100m Relay, 4x200m Relay

Josh Bowzer: 4x100m Relay, 4x200m Relay

Cedric Holman: 110m Hurdles

8th Grade Baseball:  The Panthers exploded on offense in a 17-14 win against Dublin Karrer! Cheer on the Panthers in their final game of the season today at 5:00 at UA Hastings.

Football: There will be a mandatory parent meeting for incoming Freshman Football parents on May 15th at the Darby Cafeteria Commons @ 6:00 pm

Genius Bar Applications Available for 2023-2024 School Year:  Attention all 7th graders: Would you like to work as a Genius Bar student for next year in the Media Center?  Applications are available in the Media Center by the Genius Bar information display.  This is a semester course that you can substitute for one of your electives.  The application form has information about the position/course. See Ms. Best with any questions.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month:  Author Patti Kim wrote the book, I’m OK. Ok, a Korean American boy, tries a get rich quick scheme of starting a hair braiding business and winning the school talent competition to hide the fact that he is struggling with the loss of his father and the financial hardships he and his mother must now face. Check out this book from the Media Center, along with other similar titles in the collection titled Asian Pacific Heritage Month in Destiny Discover.

Football:  Any seventh grader interested in playing football next year as an eighth grader please see Coach Martin in Room 167 to pick up your camp form

Arab American Heritage Month:  Check out the Collection titled Arab American Heritage Month in Destiny to see some of the books that are written about Arab American characters or by Arab American authors.  Some of the titles include: Once Upon An Eid by S. K. Ali and Aisha Saeed, Yusuf Azeem is Not a Hero by Saadia Faruqi, Unsettled by Reem Faruqi, Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan, and Escape from Aleppo by N. H. Senzai.

SPORTS:

Heritage Boys Lacrosse  lost to McCord MS Wednesday night 12-1 bringing their season record to 3-5-1.  Heritage takes on Worthingway/Kilbourne MS tonight at 6PM at home.  Come out and support the boy’s lacrosse team.

7th grade baseball had strong performances from Levi Keyes and Ian Cassidy but lost 13-2 against Big Walnut. They play again on Monday against Dublin Davis at 5:00.

Boys Volleyball: Both A & B teams won 2-0 !!

HONORS NIGHT: If you were not able to attend the Honors Program Tuesday evening, please stop by room 147 – Ms. Strawser’s and pick up your packet
