Panthers Fall to Scouts in Tournament Final Four
The Heritage Panthers saw their tournament run take a step back with a 48–30 loss to the Shanahan Scouts, as the Basketball Gods picked an unfortunate night for the Panthers to have an off game—just days after knocking off top-seeded New Albany on Monday.
Heritage struggled to find its rhythm early, falling behind 16–5 after the first quarter and trailing 25–14 at halftime. Despite the slow start, the Panthers never quit, continuing to hustle and compete even while down 41–22 after three quarters.
Luke Schimmoeller led the Panthers with 9 points, followed by Ethan Smith with 7 and Thomas Smith with 6. Conor Moore, Dylan Vincent, Jacob Maul, and Angelo Gum each added 2 points to round out the scoring. While the shots didn’t fall consistently, the Panthers’ effort and fight never wavered.
The Scouts ultimately pulled away for the 48–30 victory, but the Panthers can hold their heads high after a strong tournament showing highlighted by their upset win earlier in the week.
The Panthers will be back in action Saturday for their final game of the season. Go Panthers! 🐾
