Game Recap: HMS 7th Grade Boys vs. Memorial
The Heritage Panthers delivered a statement win on Wednesday night, earning a 46–27 victory over crosstown rival Memorial Jaguars in a game defined by energy, defense, and teamwork.
The Panthers edged ahead early, leading 11–10 after the first quarter, with Ethan and Thomas Smith setting the tone offensively. On the defensive end, Caden Ludban and Jake Maul brought physical, disciplined play to keep the Jaguars in check.
Heritage gained separation in the second quarter as Conor Moore knocked down a big three-pointer and added to the scoring, while Luke Schimmoeller finished a tough drive to the basket. Those contributions helped the Panthers head into halftime with a 27–16 lead.
The Panthers maintained their momentum in the third quarter, getting key baskets from Dylan Vincent and Angelo Gum, while Cole Lybarger anchored a strong defensive effort to keep Memorial from mounting a comeback.
In the fourth quarter, Heritage locked in defensively, holding the Jaguars to just two points. Brandt Windholz, Luke Kosarko, and Carter Holstein led the charge with relentless pressure and smart positioning, sealing the dominant win.
Offensively, the Panthers were paced by Ethan Smith’s 20 points, with Conor Moore adding 7 points and Thomas Smith adding 6 points and Dylan Vincent contributing 5. Luke Schimmoeller finished with 4 points, while Caden Ludban and Angelo Gum rounded out the scoring. It was a complete team victory and an impressive performance against a rival.
The Panthers now turn their focus to the road, traveling Thursday to Westerville Heritage.

The Heritage Panthers put together a strong all-around performance to earn a 48–41 victory over the Heritage Huskies, using a fast start and a big third quarter to secure the win.
The Panthers came out firing in the opening quarter, scoring 18 points to take an 18–12 lead, with Ethan and Thomas Smith setting the tone offensively. Jake Maul provided an early spark as well, scoring 5 of his 7 points in the first quarter to help Heritage build momentum. The Panthers carried a 25–21 advantage into halftime after a competitive first half.
Heritage took control in the third quarter, exploding for 14 points while tightening up defensively to stretch the lead to 39–27. That surge proved to be the difference, as the Panthers were able to withstand a late push from the Huskies and close out the game for the 48–41 win.
Ethan and Thomas Smith led all scorers with 15 points apiece. Jake Maul finished with 7 points, Luke Kosarko added 4, and Luke Schimmoeller chipped in 3. Cole Lybarger and Conor Moore each scored 2 points. Carter Holstein, Angelo Gum, Dylan Vincent, Brandt Windholz, and Caden Ludban all contributed quality minutes, rounding out a solid team performance.
The Panthers will look to keep the momentum going when they return to action Monday at home against Olentangy Liberty.
