Help us Name our New Sixth Grade School

May 7, 2026
Front of school building

As part of the district’s Master Facilities Plan—made possible through our community’s support of the 2024 levy—Hilliard City Schools is preparing to repurpose the current Brown Elementary building on Walker Road into a new sixth grade school.

With Brown Elementary being rebuilt nearby, this transition marks an exciting new chapter for our students, staff, and community. As we prepare for this change, we are inviting the community to help name the new school.

Submit a Name Suggestion

Community members may submit name nominations from May 7–18, 2026 using the link below:

Submit a School Name Nomination

When submitting a nomination, participants are encouraged to include any relevant historical background, community significance, or descriptive information that helps explain the recommendation.

Review Process

A committee of district leaders, including members of the Board of Education, will review all submissions. Proposed names will be evaluated based on:

  • Alignment with district values
  • Connection to the Hilliard community
  • Appropriateness for an educational setting

Community feedback will help inform a final recommendation, which will be presented to the Board of Education at its June 8 meeting.

We appreciate your partnership and involvement as we continue shaping the future of Hilliard City Schools together.
