Britton-Norwich Learning Campus’s educational program is based on the belief that all children can learn, but that each child learns in his or her own way and at his or her own speed.
At Britton-Norwich Learning Campus, teaching methods, classroom organization, and educational materials will vary with students’ interests, needs, and abilities. Teachers, staff, parents and the community will provide a program of instruction and assessment designed to allow each child to learn continuously at his or her own rate, regardless of age or ability.
Britton-Norwich Learning Campus Vision & Mission Statement
Our vision is that students will demonstrate concern for one another, be creative problem-solvers and have skills and positive attitudes for life-long learning.
Britton-Norwich Learning Campus is devoted to empowering students to achieve their unique potentials within a multiage, innovative, cooperative learning environment.
The Britton Elementary and Norwich Elementary staff members worked together to reimagine the elementary learning experience for students, a process that resulted in a focus on learning through design thinking and studio work as well as developing programming to improve student self-regulation.
This work has brought to light the wide variety of developmental needs of children, how those needs change from Kindergarten to 5th Grade, and how we must respond to those changes. We believe that student programming should be different for a 7-year-old than for a 10-year-old.
