Davidson Alumna Pursues Passion for Competition, Education, and Adventure
A proud 2011 graduate of Hilliard Davidson High School, Deborah Foell continues to take the skills and experiences she gained throughout her education journey and apply them in unique ways around the country and beyond.
After graduating from Davidson, Deborah earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University in 2015, followed by a Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2020.
Her career path has included a variety of roles focused on education, leadership, and professional development. Deborah spent seven years working in higher education, supporting students and programs at institutions including George Washington University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Carnegie Mellon University, and Louisiana State University. She later transitioned into technical recruiting for a robotics company in Pittsburgh.
Over the past year, Deborah has pursued a new passion that combines athleticism, dedication, and her love for animals. After moving to Ontario, California, she began training and competing in dryland and snow mushing with her Siberian Husky. Her hard work led her to compete at the International Federation of Sleddog Sports World Championships in Minocqua, Wisconsin, where she placed sixth in the 1 Dog Registered Nordic Breed Bikejor competition.
Today, Deborah is back in Ohio, where she works full time with horses, advises students through the college application process, and continues training and competing with her dog.
From the classroom at Hilliard Davidson to international competition, Deborah’s journey reflects curiosity, determination, and a willingness to pursue new opportunities, qualities that continue to define Hilliard graduates.
