The WMS Football Coaching Staff meet today to discuss how they are bringing back our students to football activities. Our MS Football teams will begin tomorrow Aug. 5th, in the PHASE 2 Guidelines of our athletic restart protocol.
Starting Aug. 5th Football will begin conditioning and their 5 day acclimation period required for all football players per OHSAA. Workouts will be Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday of this week from 8-10 am daily. No workout planned for Saturday. The Coaching Staff sent out a letter to football families today with this information and more. All football players and football players only, should meet behind Weaver between the storage building and baseball field. From there, coaches will divide between 7th grade and 8th grade into their designated field areas.
Practice for next week will be discussed later this week between coaches and players. The letter to Football families has many more details regarding return to sports activities for the next 3 days. Please remember to sign up your student-athlete on Final Forms, the link can be found on the Weaver school web page under the Athletics tab and once on the athletic page, click on the Parents tab and the link to Final Forms is found there. Also remember all athletes must have a valid OHSAA physical on file in the athletic office. If you have not turned in your physical please bring it to the workout tomorrow and give directly to coaches.
