Here is the information for our Fall Sports Tryout Times & Dates for each sport offered at Weaver MS for the fall season. Parents, please be sure you are signed up in FinalForms and that you and your athlete have chosen the sport they are planning on trying out for. This way you will be on a contact list for that coach right away and any communications that coaches send out will come to both you and your student-athlete. Please remember, ALL student-athletes must have a valid OHSAA sport physical in order to participate in tryouts at both the HS and MS level. If you do not have a physical uploaded to your FinalForms account or have an active FinalForms account, your student-athlete will not be permitted to tryout. This is a MUST set forth by OHSAA. Please refer to that link for all necessary paperwork and other requirements for athletic participation. Please use the athletic website as well to look at team schedules, as well as coach information for each sport.
- MS Cheerleading– Tryout dates– July 25th & 26th from 3-6 PM on Weaver Track. If there is rain, tryouts will move inside to main gym at Weaver. Once team selections are made, coaches will provide practice times.
- Football- Practice dates– Week of Aug. 1st- 8:00-10:00 AM meet in Weaver Stadium. Aug. 1st will start the acclimatization period for all football players per regulations from OHSAA. Day #1, shorts, shirt, cleats, and water bottle is all that is needed.
- Girls Soccer- Tryout dates- Aug. 1st, 2nd, 3rd from 6:00-7:30 PM at Weaver Soccer Practice Field. This is the softball outfield area. Weaver Soccer will have 1 combined team of 7th/8th grade girls. Number of players on team will be coach’s decision.
- Boys Soccer– Tryout dates- Aug. 1st, 2nd, 3rd from 4:30-6:00 PM at Weaver Soccer Practice Field. This is the softball outfield area. Weaver Soccer will have 1 combined team of 7th/8th grade boys. Number of players on team will be coach’s decision.
- Girls Volleyball- Tryouts dates- Aug. 1st, 2nd, 3rd from 9:00-11:00 AM in Weaver Main & Aux. Gyms. We will have a 7th & an 8th grade team and possibly a Flex team. Once team selections are made, coaches will provide practice times for each team.
- Gymnastics- Informational meeting on Sunday July 17th @ 4:00 PM at Fliptastics!Gymnastics. Practice dates- Week of Aug. 1st from 3:00-5:00 PM.
- B/G Cross Country- Practice dates- Week of Aug. 1st- TBD- meet at WMS stadium entrance at track area. Cross Country is a non-cut sport.
- Girls Tennis- Practice dates- Aug. 1st, 3rd, & 4th from 3:15-4:45 PM at WMS Tennis Courts. Aug. 2nd & 5th from 8:00-9:30 AM at Davidson Tennis Courts. Tennis is normally a non-cut sport, cuts could happen, it all depends on number of athletes that come to tryouts.
- Boys Golf- Tryout dates- Aug. 2nd & 3rd 8:40 AM @ Thornapple Golf Course. Green Fees for tryouts will need to be paid by all players trying out. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to tryout time.
- Girls Golf- Tryouts dates- Aug. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd if necessary. Time and location are still TBD. Hilliard City Schools will field a combined MS team for girls golf for this season comprised of girls from Weaver, Heritage, and Memorial. More information to come on this as the Aug. 1st date approaches.
