Please see the information below for all winter sports and their tryout/practice information. All sports have different starting dates per OHSAA.
BASKETBALL CHEER TRYOUTS:
WHEN: Thursday Oct. 26th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Davidson Wildcat Main Gymnasium WHAT TO WEAR: Black shorts, black tank top, black racerback sportsbra, no jewelry, no gum, no show white socks, and clean cheer shoes. Freshman & Sophomores= Hair in a high ponytail with blue bow. Juniors & Seniors = Hair in a high ponytail with a white bow.
MATERIAL FROM TRYOUTS: Fight song with poms, chant #1/chant #2, cheer. Jumps: toe touch, pike, hurdler, & double toe. Standing Tumble: on basketball court (standing backhand spring or more). Running Tumble: on basketball court (round off backhand spring or more). VARSITY EXPECTATION: tuck with poms for fight song; standing tuck; layout
Be sure to be loud, smile, & show your Wildcat spirit! Go CATS!!!!
WRESTLING:
Wrestling Season will start on Friday November 17th. Practice will be from 3:30-5:30 PM on most days. Please make sure your athlete has an OHSAA Physical uploaded to their Final Forms account before that start date. The start dates are listed below for each sport.
SWIMMING:
Tryouts for Swimming will be Friday Oct. 27th starting at 3:00 PM at the Hilliard Ray Patch Family YMCA. The address for the YMCA is 4515 Cosgray Road, Hilliard, OH
The Hilliard Davidson Swim team is NOT a ‘learn to swim’ program. To be a team member, the athlete must swim 66 laps (1650 yards) in 40 minutes or less, using freestyle, backstroke, or breaststroke. Please make sure your athlete has a valid OHSAA physical uploaded to their Final Forms account.
GIRLS BASKETBALL:
Tryouts for GBK are as follows: Friday Oct. 27th from 4-6 PM in the Davidson Wildcat Main Gym. Saturday Oct. 28th from 9-11 AM in the Davidson Wildcat Main Gym. Sunday Oct. 29th from 1-3 PM in the Davidson Wildcat Main Gym. Individual player meetings to follow for team selection immediately after 3 PM.
BOYS BASKETBALL:
Tryouts for BBK are as follows: Friday Nov. 3rd – Sophomores through Seniors from 2:45- 5:00 PM Saturday Nov. 4th- Freshman from 2-3:30 PM & Sophomores through Seniors from 11:30 -2:00 PM. Sunday Nov. 5th- Freshman from 3-5 PM & Sophomores through Seniors from 1-3 PM.
GYMNASTICS:
Tryouts to be held at Fliptastics! Gymnastics Center on both days. Address is 2330 International St. Columbus, Ohio 43228
Day #1 is Friday Nov. 3rd from 5-7:30 PM and Day #2 is Saturday Nov. 4th from 12:30-2:30 PM.
Practice Schedule is as follows: Every Sunday from 2-5:30 PM @ Davidson HS Fieldhouse. Every Monday from 5:30-9:00 PM @ Davidson HS Fieldhouse. Every Wednesday from 5:30-9:00 at Davidson HS Fieldhouse. Every Friday from 4-6:30 PM at Fliptastics! Gymnastics.
BOWLING:
Any student interested in trying out for the 2023-2024 Hilliard Davidson High School Wildcats Bowling Program should go on Final Forms, to fill out required paperwork.
SCHOOL PHYSICALS AND PAPERWORK MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE TRYOUTS – NO EXCEPTIONS!
Tryouts will be Tuesday, 11/7/2023 and Wednesday, 11/8/2023 at Ten Pin Alley (5499 Ten Pin Alley, Hilliard, OH 43026) from 3.15p-5p. Bowlers are responsible for a $5 fee to Ten Pin Alley for each tryout. Both Tryout days are MANDATORY (unless other arrangements are made prior to these dates) for the chance to make a team.
Voluntary Open Practices:
The Wildcats Bowling Programs are starting voluntary practices for anyone interested in the 2023-2024 High School Teams. The practices are open to any returning and new bowlers. The open practices will be Tuesday, 10/24/2023, Thursday, 10/26/2023, Tuesday, 10/31/2023, and Thursday, 11/2/2023. The voluntary practices will be at Ten Pin Alley (5499 Ten Pen Alley, Hilliard, OH 43026), from 3.15p-5p. Bowlers are responsible for a $5 fee to Ten Pin Alley for each practice.
