National Junior Honor Society

2025-2026 School Year

Eligibility:

• Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must
  1. be in the second semester of their seventh or eighth grade year
  2. must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at Memorial Middle School.
  3. 8^th graders
     3. must have an average of a 3.85 from 7^th grade and 1^st semester of 8^th grade on a 4.0 scale.
     4. must have at least 10 service hours signed off by an adult from your 7^th to 8^th grade year. If multiple service hours, please list them and have individual adults sign off
  4. 7^th graders
     3. must have an average of a 3.85 from your 1st semester on a 4.0 scale
• Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment, and GPA standards, candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

Requirements as a member for the following year

• Members will
  3. Maintain a 3.85 GPA
  4. Participate in at least one group service project (will have multiple opportunities)
  5. Complete at least 10 service hours from your 7^th grade year to your 8^th grade year (you will be given a form to keep track)
  6. Pay membership dues – Annual dues $10 to be paid no later than by the first Friday of the induction ceremony- if there is a hardship contact Mrs. Thompson
  7. Attend regular meetings of this chapter which shall be every other month starting in September (September, November, January, March, and May) Special meetings can be called by the president with approval of the adviser.
