The Weaver Girls’ Soccer team won their tournament match last night over Worthington Christian. The Cats scored four goals and shut down the CrusadeRs’ offense, giving up zero goals. The Cats had the majority of possession in the first half and took the lead after Naomi Mullett was fouled while attacking the defense. Izzy Riddle scored on the free kick from the top of the arc. Sarah Zawisza scored from distance and then Yasmine Kamel entered the match and scored two goals in less than five minutes to push the lead to 4-0. From there the Cats were able to kill off the remainder of the match. The Cats return to action Thursday to face Grandview in the semi-finals.
