Thought of the Week

“If we don’t learn to control our thoughts, we will never control our behavior”. Wildcats, controlling your first thought is almost impossible, but you are responsible for your second thought and your action or reaction.

Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month. This is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. The first year of dedicating November to Native American heritage was in 1990. This was proclaimed by President George H.W. Bush, & this tradition has continued each year. If you are interested in learning more about Native American culture and history through literature, Mrs. Fout has books on display in the Media Center.

Book Bingo

This quarter, Mrs. Fout will be hosting a reading challenge called Book Bingo. Reading challenges include reading a biography, reading the first book in a series, or reading a book set outside the U.S. Each time you complete a bingo square challenge, you earn a stamp. There are two ways to get entered into a drawing for a prize – by completing a bingo on the card or getting any six squares stamped. The prizes are a $20 gift card to Cover to Cover book store, and two $10 gift cards to Half Priced Books. The reading challenge will finish at the end of the second quarter in mid December. If you’re interested, come pick up your bingo card in the Media Center today!
