Nurse Staff Appreciation Day
This week the WMS News would like to celebrate the contributions of our nursing staff in order to give them their due thanks. We take this time to shout out Mrs. Kennedy and Ms Wentzel for all they do to make WMS a special place. Thank you!
ASL Club Last Meeting
The American Sign Language Club is looking forward to the last meeting of the year. This will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17th right after school. See you there!
8th Grade Boys Interested in Cross Country
Any 8th grade boys interested in joining the Davidson Cross Country team are invited to attend the meeting to be held tomorrow, May 17th at 6pm in the Davidson Commons. Pizza will be provided, and all are welcome to join, even if you have no cross country experience. For more information, see the flyer posted across from Mr. DeChant’s room upstairs.
Weaver Art Show
Come to the WMS Art show tomorrow, May 17th from 5-7 PM to see all of the hard work that 2D, 3D and advanced art students have done this semester! All are welcome!
Media Center End of Year Schedule
Reminder that all books are due back to the Media Center by May 20th. If you have overdue books, please return those books as soon as possible, and if you have any questions, see Mrs. Fout in the Media Center.
7th Softball
The 7th grade softball team ended our season with 2 wins against Hastings and Jones! The team made great improvements throughout the season. Miley Dusseau showed tremendous improvement on the field making some great plays at shortstop. Kelsey Hickman, Hope Wanderi and Audrey Garland contributed some key hits! Great job ladies!! Go Cats!! Tomorrow there playing kickball against the boys good luck girls!!
8th Grade Girls Interested in Cross Country

Boys’ Track
The boys track team finished their season last week against Jackson and Karrer. It was a great season for the Cats. Thanks to all of the coaches and athletes for their hard work.
Girls’ Track
The Girls track team had numerous athletes place in there last meet last week against Jackson and Karrer
In the 100 dash Ella plickert placed 1st with Avani Harris close in 4th
In the 200 hurdles, Makenzie Kline got 4th
In The 400 Sarah Betting taking third
In The 800 Placing 1st was Gemma Pusateri and in second was Sophia Tartaglia
In The mile Sophia Tartaglia got 1st with Makenzie Kline in second
In the 200, Avani Harris in 3rd
In Long Jump, Allison Sowers placing 3rd
And in High Jump, Ella plickert got 1st
In Shot Put, Zowi Murphy placing 2nd
And finally, in discus,Zowi Murphy in 3rd with Erin Scott coming at 4th
