Congratulations to the Weaver Orchestra students who participated in the District 15 Middle School Honors Orchestra this past weekend! The orchestra, directed by Dr. David Pope, performed a concert for their families on Saturday afternoon. Thank you for representing Weaver in such a positive way!

8th Grade Girls Interested In Playing Soccer at Davidson

Coach Usner will be at Weaver during all lunch periods on Tuesday December 14th to meet 8th graders, help players sign up, and answer any questions. Also, there will be a player/parent meeting sometime in the spring to discuss summer and fall schedules!
This quarter, Mrs. Fout will be hosting a reading challenge called Book Bingo. Reading challenges include reading a biography, reading the first book in a series, or reading a book set outside the U.S. Each time you complete a bingo square challenge, you earn a stamp. There are two ways to get entered into a drawing for a prize – by completing a bingo on the card or getting any six squares stamped. The prizes are a $20 gift card to Cover to Cover book store, and two $10 gift cards to Half Priced Books. The reading challenge will finish at the end of the second quarter in mid December. If you’re interested, come pick up your bingo card in the Media Center today!
8th Grade Girls’ Basketball
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team has played 3 games thus far, winning each. Two weeks ago, they beat Brookpark, 54-6. The girls played stellar defense and only gave up one point in the first half! Top performers were Addison Ruhe, with 16 points, Abby Starr with 11 points, and Sophie Onderak with 10. This past Tuesday, the girls beat Pleasant View, giving up zero points in the second half! Top performers were Addison Ruhe- 14 points, Anna Wile- 12 points, and Celia Schulte- 11 points. Finally, last Thursday the girls beat Jackson, turning in another great defensive performance. Top scorers were Anna Wile- 16 points, Addison Ruhe- 11 points, and Abby Star- 9 points.
8th Grade Boys’ Basketball
The 8th grade boys basketball team played three games in the past few weeks, winning each! The boys’ first game was against Brookpark and they won, 53-21. Their second game was against Pleasant View and they won, 43-23. In that game, Reece Hemmert led all scorers with 15, while Bryce Dielman had 9 and Seth Hoersten had 8. Finally, the Cats beat Jackson last Thursday, winning 35-17. The game started with a few deep 3 pointers from Hemmert and Hoersten. And the defense was relentless, as they allowed no quarter of double digit scoring.
7th Grade Girls’ Basketball
The 7th grade girls’ defeated Pleasantview last Tuesday. Leading the team was Maddy Lahmers and Addie Ness, both with 10 points. Last Thursday, the girls lost a tough battle to Jackson, 26-21. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Carmella Biedenbach, with 10 points. A great defensive effort was put forth by the team. The team is in action at Dublin Davis tomorrow. Good luck ladies!
7th Grade Boys’ Basketball
The 7th grade boys’ basketball team has 2 wins and 1 loss thus far. The team is playing aggressive, intelligent defense and looks to continue improving!
Flex Girls’ Basketball
The Wildcat Flex Girls’ Basketball team earned their first win of the season Wednesday night against Heritage. Leading the exciting 4th quarter comeback in scoring were Erica Kaulen and Janiya Smith. Key defensive players in the victory were Kyndall Hunton and Kaitlin Shinlever.

The Wrestling Wildcats took on Marysville Bunsold in their first match of the season last Wednesday. While as a team they did not pick up the win, the following individuals beat their opponents: Jute Marihugh, Brayden Haupt, Hussain Awadh, Jake Lawrence, Joey Cannistra, Grady Kowaleski, and Joel Penton. Congrats wrestlers, and good luck in your next matches.
