The second grade students at Washington Elementary recently created a blended learning non-fiction museum. The students had been learning about the conventions of non-fiction texts and strategies for reading those texts. Students chose a topic that they felt they were an expert on and then chose a way to share what they know. There were a variety of projects in the museum. Students chose between: posters, non-fiction books, Popplet Lite, Pic Collage, Dash and Dot robots, Clips movies, Keynote, and Adobe Spark Video. When visitors arrived at the museum, students presented their projects and answered questions on their topic. Students enjoyed sharing their knowledge of their topics as well as their expertise in using the iPad as a tool for learning.
