Locations for the K-5 Reading and Math Intervention Workshop will be Scioto Darby Elementary and Hilliard Crossing Elementary. Student enrollment in a particular building will be based on their proximity to each location.

Transportation will be provided if requested by families and the workshop is free for each student. There are a limited number of seats based on staffing.

A lottery will be used if registration exceeds capacity.

The second program is an Exploration Workshop where students can attend an interest based class around a particular theme.

Themes may include STEM, art, music, games etc. Classes are offered for one or two weeks, June 20-23 and/or June 27-30, Monday – Thursday from 8:30-11:30 at Heritage Middle School.

A minimum number of students must register for the class in order for it to be offered.

    Just Chillin'

Life can be crazy busy sometimes.  There are times when we experience frustration, stress, anxiety and anger. In this workshop, students will explore several different ways to relax, feel peaceful and calm. Mindfulness means paying attention to what is happening at the present moment without judgment. Instead of thinking about something from the past or worrying about something in the future, we are able to notice our thoughts and emotions and make a shift to more neutral feelings. Mindfulness has many benefits including: Increased Focus and Attention; Self-Regulation; Resiliency, Improved Mood and Reduced Stress.

Students will learn about the importance of slow, deep breathing and practice different ways to breathe. They will also listen to short meditations where they will visualize pictures in their mind and have opportunities to journal and draw. We will spend some time learning yoga poses, as well.  If you are looking for fun ways to “”Just Chill”” this workshop is for you!”
