Stem Class Work with Honda

Students work on engine

Mr. Tom Sladek, Honda Engineer in research and development, shared with Tharp STEM students the engineering design process at Honda. He gave the students an authentic learning opportunity to watch the design process from the initial pencil sketches to building small-scale prototypes and eventually full-scale designs. He explained that after the long process to build a product they then go through a testing and retesting process using a multitude of methods. The students said they were inspired by his work.
