Mr. Buchman’s Back-to-School Newsletter

Back To School Newsletter

Welcome Back Ridgewood Families,

I’m very excited to get this new year started and look forward to seeing our students again in the halls and classrooms. I hope you had an enjoyable summer and are ready for a new school year. The staff at Ridgewood has been very busy preparing for this school year.

As you may have noticed, we have added four more classrooms to our building to accommodate all students who belong to our Ridgewood family. We now have close to 600 students! The modulars are almost finished, ready to house our 4th grade class. In addition to the modulars, we have new staff members in our building including veterans who are returning. Click here to see the staff list or visit our school website.

Classroom assignments will be posted in Home Access Center on Friday, August 13, after 4:00 PM.

All students, grades K-5 will have Spanish this year as part of their Specials rotation. Our skilled and devoted staff is already preparing for your child(ren). We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goal of putting students first. We are committed to doing what’s best for our family academically and emotionally. We will see you soon!

Parent Pick Up and Drop Off: We are continuing the same process and expectations for parent pick up and drop off as last year. Parents need to stay in their cars for parent pick up and drop off. All parents must wait in the parent pick up car line until all buses leave. Parents are not permitted to park and walk up to the entrance of school to pick up your child(ren) at school dismissal. This is for everyone’s safety and health. If you are picking your child up from school during school hours, you will need to press the “office call button” at the front entrance, announce who you are, and who you are picking up. A staff member will ask for verification and will then bring your child(ren) to you. This is the same process we did last year and this will continue until further notice.
