Instilling a love for reading begins at the earliest ages, even before our students can form words and sentences. Talk Time at the Preschool is an important time to introduce literacy, while exposing students to new opportunities. This Talk Time theme was ‘Down on the Farm.’ The children rotated through 3 centers where they followed directions to build a scarecrow, identified, labeled, and described vocabulary, and sorted and categorized farm items into four categories, food, tools, vehicles, and animals. Our mission is to ensure that every student is Ready for Tomorrow. Reading is the foundation for academic success, and we begin to teach those skills from the first day our students enter our schools.
