Norwich students in Ms. Barkley’s 5th grade class are celebrating Black History Month. The month began with writing inspiring letters to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and ended with an Equality Cafe! Families and friends joined us at our Equality Cafe where each student shared a beautiful piece of writing, in a ‘poetry slam’ style. Our writing focused on Black History Month themes such as: equity, acceptance, love, hate, and differences. This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Black History Month, poetry, and sharing love through words as we prepare these students to be Ready for Tomorrow.
