Art Club<\/b><\/h2>\n

Art club is for any student that enjoys art, even if you’re not in an art class.\u00a0 Join us to get those ideas going and the creativity flowing, make fun projects and enjoy the company of awesome artists at THE Heritage Middle School!\u00a0 Come to meet and hang out with HMS artists and work on awesome art projects! <\/span><\/p>\n

Battle of the Books<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisors: <\/span>Alicia Tremayne<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you like to read? Do you want to meet other students who have a love of reading? Battle of the Books is a book club at Heritage that meets after school and during recess, 1-2 times per month. We read a list of 12 books that are also read by students at Memorial and Weaver. We study and discuss the books and then in May 2027 our schools hold a quiz “battle” where we answer questions about the books. Read, compete, have fun, and meet new people!\u00a0 Students can also read new books and discuss them at our club meetings without competing in the battle.\u00a0 Heritage will host the Battle of the Books competition this year in May.\u00a0 Be a part of the home team!!<\/span><\/p>\n

Diversity Club<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisor: <\/span>Lindsay Karaoglan<\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of Diversity Club is to provide a safe space for students to socialize, discuss things that are important to them, celebrate one another, and have fun! We put on schoolwide events such as Multicultural Day, Multicultural Friendsgiving, as well celebrating different cultures monthly!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fantasy Football Club<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisor: <\/span>Kaleb Secor<\/span><\/p>\n

Fantasy Football Club is a weekly fantasy football competition.\u00a0 Each week you pick a team of players from the NFL.\u00a0 The players you pick score points for how they perform that week in their NFL game.\u00a0 The person with the most points wins the week.\u00a0 After 10 weeks the person with the highest weekly points is the winner.\u00a0 Students can enroll in the Canvas course where there is more detailed information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Heritage Harmony<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisor: <\/span>Ashley Biedenharn<\/span><\/p>\n

Heritage Harmony is an advanced contemporary pop a cappella ensemble that rehearses on Fridays after school. Auditions for this group happen in the fall and all members must currently be enrolled in HMS Choir. Students will learn music in a more advanced setting, read SAB repertoire, and have the opportunity to audition for solos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jazz Band<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisor: <\/span>Matt Smith<\/span><\/p>\n

Open to: All current band members, bass players, guitarists, and pianists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prerequisite: Ability to read music<\/span><\/p>\n

Jazz is a fun, engaging activity where students learn and perform swing, blues, rock, and Latin styles of music.<\/span><\/p>\n

KPOP Club<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisor: <\/span>Ashley Bowers<\/span><\/p>\n

K-Pop Dance Club is a fun and welcoming club where students can learn about K-Pop music, culture, and artists while learning popular K-Pop-style dances. Students will have the opportunity to learn choreography, practice their dance skills, and have fun with friends!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

MathCounts<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisor: <\/span>Laura Tornes<\/span><\/p>\n

MathCounts club is starting in November at Heritage.\u00a0 MathCounts is a national mathematics competition and club that teaches creative and critical thinking, and problem-solving skills using math in a fun way.\u00a0 We will meet on Tuesdays after school until 4pm beginning on Oct 28th in Mrs. Tornes’s Room 202. Our club will have a school competition in January and then a regional competition at Columbus State in February. All students are welcome to join, especially if you love solving math problems.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

National Junior Honor Society<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisors: <\/span>Brandy Cook<\/span> & <\/span>Mikayla Kesel<\/span><\/p>\n

The organization serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. 8th graders complete an application process and those who are accepted will have an induction ceremony in February. The inducted members will attend meetings and complete individual and group service activities during the spring quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Attention 8<\/span>th<\/span> Graders: Are you dedicated to academic excellence? Are you involved in clubs, organizations and sports at HMS? Do you spend your free time volunteering in your community? Are you a leader in your school and community? If this sounds like you, then you may be eligible to apply to the National Junior Honor Society. Take a look at our updated<\/span> NJHS<\/span><\/a> application for more details. Please speak with Mrs. Cook or Ms. Kesel if you have any questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Panther Ambassadors (Junior)<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisors: <\/span>Emily Stout<\/span> & <\/span>Brad Bernhard<\/span><\/p>\n

Choosing to be a Panther Ambassador is a fantastic opportunity to be \u201ctrue to your school\u201d by creating motivational experiences and leadership lessons which benefit our Heritage students and staff alike. Volunteer opportunities are designed for students to give back to our Panther community such as helping out at school events. 7th and 8th grade students will also meet with one another monthly after school to focus on developing strong leadership and inspirational activities!<\/span><\/p>\n

Tabletop Game Club<\/b><\/h2>\n

Advisor: <\/span>Matt Wheeler<\/span><\/p>\n

If you love strategy, adventure, and a little friendly competition then join the Tabletop Game Club! Whether it’s classic board games (Monopoly, Life, Risk, Settlers of Catan), fast-paced card games (Uno, Euchre, Magic: The Gathering), or role-playing adventures like Dungeons & Dragons, we have a selection to pick from.\u00a0 Everyone\u2019s welcome\u2014bring your own games to play with friends or just bring yourself and play one of the many games we have already!\u00a0 Meetings are every other week in the media center.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Heritage Ski & Board Club<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Heritage Ski & Board Club will take trips to Mad River Mountain during the winter. All trips are weather permitting. Bus Fee and Mad River Mountain lift tickets are required.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The variety show will be in May. Variety show acts can range from singing, dancing, hula hooping, comedy, trick shots, or any cool activity that you can think of!<\/span><\/div>\n
