The word about Hilliard’s online program is getting out. Students and parents are learning about the online offerings that are available. With more than 60 courses, a high school student could earn all of the required credits without ever stepping foot in a traditional classroom.
But, we’re so much more than the number of courses we offer.
All of our Hilliard online courses are taught by highly qualified teachers. Each teacher has successfully completed rigorous professional development provided through the Quality Matters Program, a national benchmark for online course design. The teachers’ learning continues throughout each year as the team collaborates to apply the standards outlined in the Quality Matters Secondary Rubric to existing and new courses.
In addition, our teachers are constantly collaborating with each other in order to provide the best possible learning environment for our students. In fact, our daily practices set the stage for the complete opposite of what most people think of online teachers: that we sit alone behind computer screens all day long. That might be the case with other online programs. But, not in Hilliard.
Our online teachers share successes and failures. We learn together and push each other to be better. We continuously work to improve our courses, our teaching, and our online program. We take pride and we are a team in nearly every sense of the word. In Hilliard, quality matters.
