Energy . . . we learned in physics class that energy is a property of objects that can be transferred but cannot be created or destroyed. We are all made of energy . . . we are energy.
In the Hilliard City Schools, we purposefully behave with enthusiasm and relentlessly pursue positive energy. We support each other . . . we are committed to putting an end to negative energy. We talk to people, not about them. We can count on each other . . . we hold each other accountable.
In today’s society of instant gratification and social-media driven world, it takes dedication and purposeful behavior to remain positive at all times. It takes a team . . . a team that has confidence and faith in each other . . . to keep that negative energy out of our classrooms and buildings. Our work is too important to be pulled into the gutter of divisiveness and negativism. We are shaping the future . . . we are preparing America’s next generation of leaders. We prepare each individual student to be Ready for Tomorrow . . . to be ready for success in the future. There is no place for energy vampires in our ranks.
Yes, we all have bad days . . . we all face the temptation to blame others, complain about our reality, and defend our negative actions. It is easy to point a finger or vent about our challenges, and no one can fight negative energy alone. We work together . . . we are stronger as a team. We need to be focused and stay focused on the children in our care. We seek solutions rather than blaming others for problems. We respect diversity and differences of opinions.
Positive energy provides opportunities for productive collaboration. Collaboration doesn’t mean we always get our way . . . we can’t all always win. Positive energy creates compromise, fruitful engagements, and respect for differences. Our passion for growth and pursuit of excellence fuel our efforts each and every day. We strive to be positive beacons of light guiding our work on our journey together.
