Perhaps the most exciting of all the year-end activities is the process leading up to and including graduation day. \u00a0The planning of these activities has already started, and the purpose of this letter is to share with you the details of these events. \u00a0This is a memorable time in a senior\u2019s life, and it is equally special for the families who have supported them every step of the way. \u00a0We want to make sure that you are included in the celebration!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c11\">During the weeks ahead, there will be many opportunities to participate in senior activities. \u00a0These activities are being planned to provide time to reflect and celebrate. \u00a0We do expect seniors to take personal responsibility for their actions and adhere to school policies and procedures up to and through graduation day. \u00a0Your assistance in helping your son\/daughter meet timelines will be greatly appreciated. \u00a0We look forward to making this a special time for seniors, staff, and families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c11\">We congratulate you, the families of the Class of 2026, and thank you for your guidance during the past several years. \u00a0We continue to ask for your support and encouragement as we look toward commencement on Friday, May 22nd, at The Value City Arena\/Jerome Schottenstein Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c11\">If you have any questions, please contact Kristen Clausen, Assistant Principal. Traffic Control staff can direct you to the designated location for your event.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"c19 c13\"><span class=\"c1\">A MESSAGE FROM THE HILLIARD YOUTH AND FAMILY COMMISSION<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"c19 c13\"><strong><span class=\"c24 c9 c43\">\u201cParents Who Host, Lose the Most:<br \/>\nDon\u2019t be a party to teenage drinking\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c3 c9\">Prom and graduation are important milestones in young peoples\u2019 lives and cause for celebration. \u00a0The Hilliard Youth and Family Commission and Drug-free Action Alliance wants parents to know that providing alcohol to teens at prom and graduation parties can be costly for everyone involved. \u00a0It is illegal, unsafe, and unhealthy for anyone under age 21 to drink alcohol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c13 c58\"><span class=\"c3 c9\">Here are the facts:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c82 lst-kix_ug784fcpahgs-0 start\">\n<li class=\"c58 c13 c67 li-bullet-1\"><span class=\"c3 c9\">Parents who give alcohol to their teen\u2019s friends under any circumstances, even in their own homes, are breaking the law.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c58 c67 c13 li-bullet-1\"><span class=\"c3 c9\">Parents who knowingly allow a person under 21 to remain in their home or on their property while consuming or possessing alcoholic beverages can be prosecuted and everything associated with such a violation can be confiscated, including personal property.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c58 c67 c13 li-bullet-1\"><span class=\"c3 c9\">Parents can be sued if they give alcohol to anyone under 21; and they in turn hurt someone, hurt themselves, or damage property.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c13 c92\"><span class=\"c14 c9\">Hilliard teens deserve to live and grow to adulthood in an environment where alcohol is not misused.
