Celebrating Embrace, Empower, Inspire Award Winners

Please join us in celebrating this month’s three Embrace, Empower, Inspire Award winners! These staff members were nominated by students, colleagues and community members for the meaningful ways they go above and beyond to support our students and school community.

Erik Burkhardt – The Hub
Erik was recognized for his quick response when a CATS student choked during lunch. Erik immediately administered the Heimlich maneuver, helping the student breathe again. Beyond that moment, Erik consistently supports students as they work at The Hub, throughout the district and with businesses in the community. His dedication has played an important role in the success of our CATS program, and he is an invaluable member of our team.

Amanda Dowrey – Memorial Middle School
As a social worker, Amanda has created a dedicated space at Memorial where students can access school supplies, food, clothing and other necessities. Just as importantly, she has built a strong sense of trust with students, ensuring they can ask for help and know they will be treated with kindness, respect and dignity. By meeting students’ basic needs and removing barriers to learning, Amanda helps students feel safe, supported and connected to their school community.

Caitlyn Schott – Preschool
Caitlyn creates a warm, welcoming environment where her youngest students feel comfortable, supported and excited to come to school. Her joyful and enthusiastic personality helps ease the transition for children who may be experiencing school for the very first time.

Congratulations again to all three, and thank you for the many ways you embrace, empower and inspire our students every day!
