Hilliard City Schools Earns 4.5 Star on State Report Card

There is a lot to celebrate in Hilliard City Schools.

The latest Ohio State Report Card gives Hilliard City Schools an overall rating of 4.5 stars, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff and families. These results highlight the progress happening across our district and the continued commitment to providing students with the instruction, support and opportunities they need to succeed.

This year, 73% of Hilliard students demonstrated proficiency on state tests and end-of-course exams, an increase from 70% last year. Our district also earned 5 stars in Gap Closing, demonstrating strong progress in supporting student growth across a variety of student groups. In addition, Hilliard earned 4 stars in Graduation, with a 94% weighted graduation rate.

These accomplishments represent more than percentages or ratings. They reflect students working hard, teachers using data to guide instruction, staff members providing targeted support, and families partnering with our schools. Together, these efforts help ensure that students are challenged academically and supported as they work toward their goals.

We are especially proud of the gains made by our youngest learners. Third-grade reading proficiency improved by 6%, while K-3 literacy improved by 11%. Strong literacy skills provide an important foundation for success in every subject, and this growth reflects the intentional work taking place in classrooms across our elementary schools. Teachers and staff continue to use research-based practices, monitor student progress and provide instruction designed to meet students where they are and help them continue to grow.
