Matthew Carter Visits Heritage!

Matthew Carter visited Heritage and spoke to Language Arts classes on November 1st.  Matthew Carter is the inspiration behind Ghost, a New York Times best-selling novel by Jason Reynolds. This book was read by all of the 7th grade Language Arts classes at Heritage.  Recently this book was named one America’s 100 most-loved books by the Great American Read,  and Carter’s story has served as welcomed introduction to literature for thousands of students, and given thousands more an opportunity to see themselves on the page.  What a great honor for Heritage to have Matthew as a guest!

Matthew currently travels around the country sharing his story of triumph over trauma that inspired the character of Castle “Ghost” Crenshaw.
