Hilliard City Schools Superintendent Dr. John Marschhausen has been appointed to the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board for a term beginning June 10, 2019, and continuing at the pleasure of Governor Mike DeWine.

The Governor’s Executive Workforce Board advises the Governor and the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Ohio’s entire workforce system. The majority of the Board directly represents private-industry business, but also included on the Board are representatives from the Ohio General Assembly, local government, state agency, labor, and education.

“With Ohio being one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States,  preparing the next generation of workers is essential to Ohio’s continued growth and development,” said Dr. Marschhausen.  “Partnerships between business and education are essential to meeting workforce transformation needs.”

Hilliard Weaver Middle School was proud to host the June 12, 2019 quarterly Governor’s Executive Workforce Board meeting.  Dr. Marschhausen and Hilliard Bradley Graduate Reagan Beard spoke about how industry credentials open many doors and help all students to be Ready for Tomorrow.

During his tenure on the Governor’s Board, Dr. Marschhausen will continue as Superintendent in Residence at The Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology.  In this role he serves as a conduit between the K-12 education community and the college faculty.  This appointment will allow him to bridge Ohio’s workforce development planning with a larger educational community.
